Allama Iqbal Day Celebrations – All Quetta Bait Baazi Competition

In commemoration of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the BUITEMS Student Affairs Department celebrated Iqbal day by organizing the All Quetta Bait Baazi Competition, a vibrant event celebrating the intellectual and poetic legacy of Pakistan’s national poet. The competition brought together students from various universities and colleges across Quetta, fostering a spirit of solidarity and cultural appreciation.

Chief Executive of Balochistan Think Tank Network (BTTN) Brig. Agha Ahmed Gul graced the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, Brig. Gul emphasized the enduring relevance of Iqbal's philosophy in shaping a progressive and self-reliant nation. He commended BUITEMS for fostering an environment that celebrates the intellectual heritage of Pakistan and encourages youth to embrace Iqbal’s vision of self-awareness and collective growth. His inspirational words resonated with the audience, reinforcing the importance of celebrating Iqbal’s contributions to Pakistan’s cultural and intellectual fabric.

Among the distinguished speakers was Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), who delivered an inspiring speech on the timeless relevance of Allama Iqbal's teachings and poetry. He emphasized how Iqbal's profound ideas on self-realization, leadership, and perseverance continue to resonate with the youth, serving as a guiding light for their personal and professional growth. Hafiz Tahir, Secretary of Higher Education Balochistan, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the importance of integrating Iqbal's poetic works into the academic curriculum. He passionately advocated for this inclusion as a means to deepen students' understanding of Iqbal's philosophy, helping them connect with the rich cultural and intellectual heritage of Pakistan while inspiring them to contribute meaningfully to society.

Other notable speakers included Prof. Dr. Irfan Ahmed Baig, Mr. Sarwar Javeed, and Prof. Tasneem Sanam, who each brought valuable perspectives on the profound life and teachings of Allama Iqbal.
