We aspire to produce competent physicists with critical thinking through observation and practice capable of resolving academic challenges in the field of Physics. Our department promotes research in Physics and emerging technologies. Also, we aim to impart knowledge through experiments and design innovative techniques of investigation.
BS Physics and MS Semiconductor Physics were being offered since 2004 under faculty of Information and Communication Technology. After the establishment of the Physics department under the faculty of Arts and Basic Sciences in 2007, BS and MS Physics is offered in the Physics Department. Now PhD is also offered after acquiring a NOC from HEC in 2017. The department aims to excite students to explore the universe and the desire to engage in lifelong learning. Currently, BS Physics, MS Physics and PhD Physics are being offered in the department. The course offered in the Department of Physics at BUITEMS is in accordance with the scheme of studies approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan to meet the national and international standards. The physics department offers 4 years (8 semesters) BS program, 2 years (4 semesters) MS program and three years (6 semesters) PhD program.
Our highly qualified faculty includes PhD degree holders with vast teaching and research experience with international exposure in different fields. The Department has vast collaborations within the University, as well as with industry. Researchers increase their participation in university/industry events and engage more with companies to explore opportunities for collaboration.
