Capacity Building and Promoting Entrepreneurship Education in Balochistan Universities January-June 2022

Under the visionary leadership and continuous support of Ahmed Farooq Bazai (S.I), Vice Chancellor, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Dr. Noor Muhammad, Professor, Department of Management Sciences and his Team won a grant titled ‘Capacity Building and Promoting Entrepreneurship Education in Balochistan Universities’ under the U.S – Pakistan University Partnerships Grants Program 2020-22, which is funded by the U.S. Mission in Pakistan and administered by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP).

SDG8 This grant covers three broad thematic areas:
  • Promoting Entrepreneurship Education
  • Promoting Active Learning in Business Education
  • Implementing Learning Management System (LMS)

The participating universities are the University of Loralai, University of Turbat, Balochistan University of Engineering & Technology, Khuzdar, Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water & Marine Sciences, and Mir Chakar Khan Rind University, Sibi, all remotely located in Balochistan. Programming under this initiative will enhance the capacity of staff members at remotely located universities in imparting required skills and knowledge to students. It will help in creating future business leaders and promoting entrepreneurial activities. The Learning Management System (LMS) will enable university management to implement their e-learning initiative and smoothly run their programs, especially in COVID-19.

The virtual program orientation ceremony was held on January 24, 2022. Dr. Noor Muhammad led the orientation with a brief overview of the virtual training program. Mr. Muhammad Shah Khan, Director National Incubation Centre, BUITEMS, Dr. Anayatullah, Director ORIC, BUITEMS, Vice Chancellors of participating universities, focal persons of participating universities, trainers, and participants of the capacity building sessions attended the orientation.

John Rhatigan, Acting Public Affairs Officer at U.S. Consulate General Karachi, Kemana Roh Deputy Public Affairs Officer at the US Embassy, and Ali Chauhan, Cultural Affairs Manager at U.S. Consulate General, Karachi represented USEFP in the orientation session.
