On April 30, 2024, the students of the BS-Microbiology 6th at the Department of Microbiology, BUITEMS organized a commendable tree plantation activity. This initiative, part of their extracurricular activities for the subject Research Methodology, was aimed at fostering a sense of environmental stewardship and social responsibility among students.

The tree plantation drive took place near the mosque at Takatu Campus, where about 100 trees of various species were planted. This effort highlights the students' commitment to enhancing the campus environment and contributing to the well-being of our planet.

Teachers and students from the Faculty of Life Sciences and Informatics actively participated in this event. Dr. Kaleem U. Kakar, Associate Professor at the Department of Microbiology and the subject teacher for Research Methodology, along with Mr. Taimoor Shah Durrani, Lecturer in Environmental Science, headed the activity. Their leadership and guidance played a crucial role in the successful execution of the event.

The diverse array of trees planted not only adds to the campus's greenery but also promotes biodiversity and ecological balance. This activity serves as a practical application of the principles taught in the Research Methodology course, providing students with hands-on experience in project planning, execution, and collaboration. It also emphasizes the importance of environmental care and sustainability, encouraging students to take proactive steps towards protecting our planet.

The successful completion of this tree plantation drive is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students and faculty involved. It sets a positive example for future initiatives and underscores the importance of integrating social responsibility and environmental awareness into academic activities.
