Cohort 6 took place on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at NIC Quetta BUITEMS, focusing on supporting and empowering micro-businesses from both host and refugee communities. The event aimed to foster their growth and innovation, contributing positively to the broader community.
Participants included members of the Meri Shinakht Mera Karobar program's cohort 6, UNHCR representatives, the Vice Chancellor of BUITEMS, Pro VC BUITEMS and the NIC Quetta management team.
The ceremony featured several significant activities, beginning with a Quran recitation and an introduction to the Meri Shinakht Mera Karobar project through an engaging video. This video highlighted the program's outreach efforts, training sessions, mentorship opportunities, exposure visits, and the pitching competition, along with testimonials from micro-entrepreneurs who benefited from the program.
As the event progressed, UNHCR representatives and the VC of BUITEMS proudly distributed certificates and awards, acknowledging the hard work and achievements of the participants. Ms. Efratan Gizaw Abebe (Program officer) from UNHCR and Dr. Khalid Hafeez (VC BUITEMS) shared insightful remarks, emphasizing the importance of supporting micro-businesses and celebrating the dedicated efforts of the NIC Quetta team. The event concluded on a joyful note with a lively photo session, capturing the spirit of community and collaboration.
