MOU Signing Ceremony Between BUITEMS and Rotary Club Quetta

Thursday, September 12, 2024

BUITEMS and Rotary Club Quetta (RCQ) signed MOU on Thursday, September 12, 2024 to harness the talent of meritorious students at BUITEMS, Quetta. This project aims at harnessing the talent of meritorious students from Balochistan who are unable to maximize their potential due to lack of information, limited exposure and opportunities, missing career counseling and limited institution support at all levels of education (school through universities). Further, the project aims at maximizing the benefits from Rotary International and associated clubs globally. Third, students will be given an opportunity to become rotractors and engage in community service projects—an activity that will not only help them gain experience but also help them win university admission and scholarships.

Rotary Club Quetta under this project will prepare students and helping them apply to the International Universities—preparation will include working on Standardized test (GRE) and completing the admission application that will include writing research proposal and personal statements. Further, students will apply through Rotary Club Quetta’s professional assistance so that they are able to secure admission on scholarship (full or partial) in world’s leading institutions. Finally, if students receive partial scholarships, Rotary Club Quetta will work with other Clubs globally (we will be signing MOUs with other clubs on the sidelines) to come in as partners and support the partial fee of our students or support their housing in their respective cities. This project will not only harness talent but improve development of Balochistan in the long run.

Dr. Abdul Rehman Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor signed the MOU on behalf of BUITEMS, Quetta, whereas, Mr. Nadeem Shahzad, Secretary Rotary Club Quetta signed the MOU. The ceremony was attended by meritorious undergraduate students from all departments at BUITEMS. After the MOU ceremony students were briefed on the project details and RCQ planned activities were discussed. The project will kick off from September 20, 2024 with GRE classes until December 2024, after which students will appear initially in GRE Mock Exam and later appear in GRE International Exams. Students securing good score will be mentored in preparing university applications and will be applying for admissions and scholarships.
