The Honorable Chancellor of BUITEMS / Governor of Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, visited the Directorate of IT Services (ITS). Accompanying him were Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Abdul Rehman Khan, and Registrar Dr. Zahid Rauf. The visit aimed to enhance awareness of the technological advancements and facilities available at BUITEMS.
Upon arrival, the Chancellor BUITEMS was warmly welcomed by the Director of IT Services, Engr. Muhammad Anwar Khan, along with his committed team. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as the delegation prepared to explore the various technological innovations that are transforming the learning environment at the university.
Following the welcoming remarks, Engr. Muhammad Anwar Khan provided a comprehensive overview of the IT services offered at BUITEMS. He highlighted key components of the university's hardware infrastructure, detailing its capacity to support academic and administrative functions. The discussion also included an overview of the following critical services:
• Internet Bandwidth: The university has significantly upgraded its internet bandwidth, ensuring reliable connectivity for both students and staff, facilitating smooth online learning and research activities.
• Smart Wi-Fi: A state-of-the-art Smart Wi-Fi system has been implemented across the campus, providing robust and high-speed wireless access to students and faculty.
• ORACLE Campus Management System (CMS): The integration of the ORACLE CMS streamlines various administrative processes, enhancing efficiency in managing student data and academic resources.
• Website and IP Surveillance: The university's website has been optimized to provide a user-friendly experience for students and stakeholders. Additionally, an IP surveillance system has been installed to enhance security on campus.
• Attendance Management: The introduction of an automated attendance management system ensures accurate tracking of staff attendance, improving accountability and administrative efficiency.
After the briefing, the Chancellor BUITEMS and his team were guided to the Smart Classroom, a newly developed facility within the Directorate of ITS. This innovative space is designed to support remote learning by providing students access to digital resources from locations far from campus.
In the Smart Classroom, students can engage with interactive tools and technologies, allowing for a collaborative and immersive learning experience. This initiative reflects BUITEMS' commitment to embracing modern educational practices and ensuring that all students have equal access to quality education, regardless of their geographical constraints.
The visit concluded with the Chancellor BUITEMS, expressing his appreciation for the technological advancements made by the Directorate of IT Services.
