The Breast Cancer Awareness and Geo-Health Workshop took place on September 11, 2024, at Orange Hall, BUITEMS. It was organized by Prof. Dr. Haleema Sadia from the Department of Biotechnology at BUITEMS and Dr. Shafiullah from SDSS NCGSA Lab. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer and explore the role of geo-health technology in public health. Expert speakers, including medical professionals, researchers, and technologists, shared insights on key topics such as breast cancer screening, environmental influences on cancer, patient care post-treatment, and the application of GIS and remote sensing in disease monitoring. The event was attended by students, doctors, and researchers, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of medical and technological advancements to improve public health outcomes. The closing ceremony was honored by Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Abdul Rehman Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Informatics Mr. Naeem Shahwani, Director of Communication, Syed Dara Shikoh Aamir and other esteemed faculty members. Shields and certificates were awarded to organizers, speakers, and volunteers in recognition of their contributions.
