The Department of Education (FSSH) recently organized a Breast Cancer awareness workshop as part
of a course activity of "School, Community, and Teacher." The students of the third semester arranged
this exercise under the guidance of course instructor Ms. Khalida Naaz. The purpose of the activity
was to deliver complex information in a simplified manner.
The workshop revolved around encouraging self-examination and screening to aid in early diagnosis
and better health outcomes. Second, it promotes open conversations in order to dispel myths and
encourage people to seek medical attention without fear. Finally, it sought to foster developing an
inclusive support and supportive community concept by raising awareness that breast cancer affects
both men and women.
Two renowned doctors from Quetta, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khan and Dr. Ayesha Arshad, were invited
to deliver comprehensive lectures on breast cancer; further, a special section with female faculty and
students was also arranged for self-examination. The session starts with recitation of the Quran,
followed by an overview of the course and activity goals. The doctors provided thorough information
about subject matter further; a question-and-answer session allowed students and faculty to engage in
a substantive discussion.
The session was ended with a vote of thanks from the chairperson, Department of Education.
Additionally, guests expressed their gratitude and encouraged the students to organize health
awareness-related topics.
