BUITEMS Hosts PEC Re-Accreditation Visit for Engineering Programs

Quetta, August 25–26, 2025 – The Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) successfully hosted the Pakistan Engineering Council’s (PEC) Program Evaluation Team (EAB) for the re-accreditation of its BS Electronics Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, and BS Software Engineering programs.

The two-day re-accreditation exercise, conducted under the PEC Manual of Accreditation 2019, was aimed at reviewing the quality of education, curriculum, infrastructure, and academic processes to ensure alignment with national and international engineering education standards.

Engagements and Evaluation Process
The PEC team, comprising senior academics and engineering experts from leading institutions across Pakistan, was formally received by BUITEMS’ leadership, including the Vice Chancellor, Deans, and Heads of Departments.

The visit featured a series of activities, including:
Opening meeting with BUITEMS leadership highlighting the university’s vision, mission, academic strengths, and recent developments.
Evaluation of laboratories, classrooms, and academic support facilities to assess adequacy, safety, and effectiveness. Departmental presentations on program objectives, learning outcomes, and continuous quality improvement mechanisms. Review of documentation and records including course files, assessment methods, student feedback, research outputs, and industry linkages.

Interactions with students, faculty, alumni, and employers to evaluate graduate competence, industry relevance, and institutional support.
